Le Grand Voyage

Feature film Film in de buurt
Reda, the son of Moroccan immigrants, is forced to accompany his father on a pilgrimage to Mecca, just before his final exams at school. According to the old man, there’s only one way of getting there: by car. It’s bound to be a difficult journey, since both men have little in common. They now have to spend whole days together, but still don’t manage to understand each other. Funny incidents, casual encounters, and personal confrontations make the journey unpredictable. It takes a journey of 5000 km through Europe and the Middle East before father and son finally talk to each other. Le Grand Voyage won the golden Lion for the best film debut at the Venice Film Festival in 2004.
